It Doesn't Always Last
This project features imagery of a place I spent my childhood summers, the local pool. I have fond memories of this place and the days I spent there with my friends, bother, and sister. We used to race out bikes there every morning for swim practice and then quickly ride back home for lunch and be back at the pool by the noon opening. We would spend all day there playing in the water, sliding off the slide, and jumping off the diving boards. When we would get hungry, we went to the snack bar. The summer after my sophomore year of high school (2015) the pool was sold to be developed into luxury apartments. This diptych represents the feeling of this place while the pool was open side by side with the image of what it became.
